How the THAT Onboarding Rewards programme works
This page describes the programme's rules as they are in force on the THAT contracts on Polygon. It is published for anyone to read; nobody signs or accepts it. A fingerprint of this page is recorded on chain so that the version in force can always be checked. Version of 20 October 2026.
1. Who takes part
- Anyone who holds a .that name can take part by claiming a business in the THAT app. There are two classes: verified reps, listed by THAT, on the verified plan; and community reps on the public plan.
- You may not claim a business you own or run, and your own payments to a business you claimed never count.
- A business has one onboarder, counted per receiving wallet: listings that share a wallet share one onboarder.
- Businesses that were already on THAT before the programme launched can be claimed but earn no Activation reward; their other rewards work as for any business.
2. Claiming, and when
- Claims are open for any business not yet linked to an onboarder, before or after THAT turns on THATBACK for it. Claiming a business that is already active earns according to the timing below.
- A claim made up to 14 days after a business's first real customer earns everything, including the full Activation reward for customers who already paid. A later claim earns only what is still to come: the remaining business-payment shares, no early-volume bonus, and the Volume share at the late rate.
- You can name a referral partner by their .that name and give them a share of your rewards from that business, up to the plan's limit; they are paid as THATBACK. You can change or remove them until they earn their first reward from it.
3. What you earn
Verified reps
- Activation reward: 112 USD, paid as 28 USD each time one of the business's first 4 real customers pays it at least 2,000 THAT from their own wallet. Each customer counts once.
- Early-volume bonus. Add up what real customers pay the business from their own wallets in its first 30 days, counting each customer up to 150,000 THAT, valued in dollars. If 20% of that is more than the Activation reward, you receive the difference, up to 224 USD in all.
- Business-payment reward: 168 USD, paid as 42 USD for each of the business's first 4 payments of at least 2,000 THAT to other THAT businesses after it is linked to you.
- Volume share: 1% of the dollar value of every real customer payment to the business for 24 months from its first real customer; 0.5% if you claimed it more than 14 days after that first customer.
- You may give a referral partner up to 50% of your rewards from the business.
Community reps
- Activation reward: 80 USD, paid as 10 USD each time one of the business's first 8 real customers pays it at least 2,000 THAT from their own wallet. Each customer counts once.
- Early-volume bonus. None on this plan at present.
- Business-payment reward: 20 USD, paid as 10 USD for each of the business's first 2 payments of at least 2,000 THAT to other THAT businesses after it is linked to you.
- Volume share: 0.5% of the dollar value of every real customer payment to the business for 12 months from its first real customer; 0.2% if you claimed it more than 14 days after that first customer.
- You may give a referral partner up to 50% of your rewards from the business.
4. What counts
- Only payments made from a customer's own wallet, after THAT has turned on THATBACK for the business. The part of a payment paid with THATBACK does not count.
- A payment counts once its 24-hour refund window has passed. Refunded payments never count.
- A real customer is anyone except you (from any wallet that has held your name), your referral partner for that business, the business itself, THAT's own wallets, and wallets THAT's rewards system has restricted.
- A business owner with several storefronts on one wallet may be credited for up to 10 business-payment shares in all, raised from the plan's count only by THAT's operations team.
- Demo payments from your own wallets do not count, and arranging payments to trigger rewards is abuse that THAT can hold or cancel rewards for.
5. Getting paid
- Rewards are set in dollars. You take them as USDC, one for one, or as a THATBACK gift boosted to 150%: every 1 USD of reward becomes 1.5 USD worth of THAT to spend at THAT businesses, not withdrawable. You can choose any split, and your choice at payout applies to everything that is ready.
- The THAT amount uses THAT's average price over the last 8 hours on the THAT/USDC market.
- A reward shows as In review as soon as it is earned, becomes Ready once the payment can no longer be refunded, and is paid when you tap Pay out. There is no minimum amount for a payout.
- The programme pays out at most 5,000 USD a day across all reps; anything beyond that waits for review and is paid afterwards.
- If a payout cannot go through, for example because the programme's funding is briefly short, nothing is lost and you can try again later.
- Your wallet pays the small network fee if it holds POL; otherwise the app can cover it.
6. Review, holds and changes
- THAT reviews rewards and can hold or cancel rewards linked to abuse. A reward held for review is decided within 8 days.
- THAT can pause claims and payouts, change the settings above for rewards earned after the change, and publish a new version of this page; the rules in force at any time are the version whose fingerprint is on chain then.
Amounts in dollars are paid in USDC on Polygon. THAT amounts are counted from the customer's own wallet. Figures on this page are the values set on the THAT contracts on 20 October 2026.
