Too often, we see young riders get hurt because they weren’t set up with the right guidance or the right horse. That’s why we’re here. Led by Debbie Burgermeister — a seasoned horsewoman, competitor, certified coach, trainer, performer in the iconic 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony, long-time riding school owner (since 2006), and author of Giddy Up Beginner Books — our retreat provides the perfect foundation for anyone starting their horse journey. Children are gently introduced to horse care around the stables — including grooming, handling, saddling, and bridling — along with a taste of riding basics focused on balance. It’s a low-cost, slow-paced way to begin building skills and confidence. We’re passionate about raising the next generation of knowledgeable, sensible, and capable riders — and helping create special memories along the way. As a well-established, family-run horse riding school in a peaceful location near the heart of the Gold Coast, we take pride in the care of our horses (consistently praised in our reviews), and in offering trusted, high-quality experiences backed by maturity and genuine care.
